A series of new additions have refreshed Wellington Town Centre as part of a wider public realm project.
The upgrades include 15 new benches, 14 cycle hoops, 23 new bins, five recycling bins and 19 hanging baskets across New Street, Walker Street, Market Square, Market Approach and Church Street.
New wayfinding signage, which includes 30 finger posts and six totems with display maps, has also been installed around the town centre.
Telford & Wrekin Council have invested Β£800,000 in public realm improvements to change the landscape of Wellington Town Centre - all part of a wider Investing in Telford and Wrekin programme across the Borough.
The project has delivered infrastructure improvements to support sustainable travel, improved footpaths and parking.
As part of the Councilβs ongoing investment into roads and footpaths, it has also redeveloped Church Street and works have included widening footpaths, resurfacing the carriageway, replacing all kerbs and installing new drainage to improve the general street scene.
It will make the street safer and more accessible for pedestrians, while still maintaining the carriageway for vehicle use and parking provision.
